bmac Posted 31 December , 2008 Share Posted 31 December , 2008 Wonder if anyone can help with the following officer listed as having died on 1st July 1916 by SDGW with a reference to a 2nd Lt Bennett being killed in the 2nd Yorkshire's War Diary. He is the only commissioned Bennett with the 2nd Yorkshires according to the NA so they must be one and the same. Geoff's search engine shows nothing. 2nd Lt Geoffrey Ernest Layton Bennett, 2nd Yorkshire Regt. previously 9914 Pte 5th London Regiment. Nothing about him in the LRB's history.
