Hello. I am trying to find out my Grandfather's unit/battery and service record but to no avail.

I have his medal index card and copies of the medal rolls but they do not show his unit. He was born in Heanor, Derbyshire and joined up in Nottingham.

His Regimental number was 59362 and his rank was Driver. I know he was transferred to France with the Royal Horse Artillery on 26/1/1915 and left the forces in 1920 but that is all. At some point, he also served with the Royal Field Artillery.

Does anyone have any details about which RHA unit(s) may have moved to France at this tme in 1915 or information about how I could perhaps trace his service history?

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks in advance, regards Tony Siddons.
