CWGC added the following 'new' WW1 casualty to its Debt of Honour database today – Monday 17th November.

Pte John McGIVERON

20957 15th Bn, King’s (Liverpool Regiment)

Died 07.12.15 Age 36

Commemoration: Brookwood (United Kingdom 1914-1918) Memorial, Surrey, UK

NOT FORGOTTEN

The above is another case from the ‘In From The Cold Project’.

Pte McGIVERON died of pneumonia in Whitchurch Cottage Hospital, Salop after being taken ill whilst awaiting Court Martial in military custody for desertion.

Found Whitchurch as its cemetery records on line - I didnt find him - but I did find another non commemorated!!!!

Blimey, what a great little resource that is! Pity other areas don't have a similar searchable database like that?

Nice find Chris, it's surprising how you can sometimes stumble on cases like this whilst looking for other men. Another one coming in from the cold? ;)

Does anyone know of any other cemetery/burial databases like this one?

Just spoken to Liverpool Record Office & there is no such street then or now in Liverpool

There is a John McGiveron buried in Ford Cemetery on 11/12/15 Section AD Plot 1195 (public) age 36. He died in Whitchurch cottage Hospital.

Found him - not bad for a mornings works - my thanks to the Liverpool Record Office
