10th Btn Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment

I'd welcome some help with finding out more about my Great Uncle's record: Bertram Francis Lewis, service nos 36374, died of his wounds on 4th October 1918 while serving with the 10th Battalion of the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). However, his medal card and record in Soldiers Died in the Great War indicate that he started the war with the Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment (his earlier service number was G/9707). This also says that he enlisted in Battersea so my working assumption is that he joined the 10th service battalion formed in Battersea. He is buried in Mount Huon military cemetery in Le Treport, France.

Can anyone tell me:

a) whether my working assumption is correct?

B) when he was transferred from the Queens RW Surrey Regiment to the Cameronians or how I can find out more

c) when and where he might have sustained his wounds

Any information or guidance very gratefully received.

Helen

My Great Uncle was George Frederick Stopher White G/9753 10th Battalion Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment died 12 July 1916 Age 19. From Battersea also, service numbers are fairly close so I would imagine that they may have been familiar to each other!
