20th Division Posted 14 November , 2008 Share Posted 14 November , 2008 Would appreciate any info from R.G.A. experts on this battery? Whereabouts dates etc. I am aware of a M.M. being awarded to 147179 Gnr. H.E. Kemp ( 56/4 siege battery). Would like to know date and reason for this award if anyone knows of it. ----Also---any idea what the "4" means in 56/4? Does any one know which Brigade/s the 56th Siege battery was attached to?---or any way i can trace their locations FROM Feb 1916 when they first went to France? "THANKS" DAVE B. Dear MONS STAR-------Thanks for this useful information---even got a picture up of the 8" Howitzers. Currently researching the MM of Gnr KEMP--------but like all MM's the citation has been lost or is not available. Shame the "details" of so many acts of courage appear to be gone for ever!!!! Best wishes DAVE B.
