soldier75 Posted 13 November , 2008 Share Posted 13 November , 2008 Does anyone know of the significance of the prefix L and C in a RFA service number, my grandfather served with the RFA att 51st Highland Div during the war, but amongst others he had 2 numbers, the first with an L prefix and the second and final number with a C prefix, his rank and job of Driver stayed the same. Any information gratefully received Soldier75
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 13 November , 2008 Share Posted 13 November , 2008 "L" is IIRC a "Local" enlistment on a par with "Pals" battalions for the infantry....
