Charmed1234 Posted 5 November , 2008 Share Posted 5 November , 2008 Can anybody help me. I am looking for the sevice history of Harry Whitehead Broadbent born in Oldham in 1889. I have looked on Ancestry and I can't find a service record or a pension record for him. The only information I have been able to find is a record on CWGC which says that he died on 28/02/1919, he was a Gunner in the 27th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery, with the regimental number 245628. I have also found a medal card on the National Archvies site which says that he was also a Private in the Army Service Corps, with the regimental number S/4/086691, if anyboby can help he find out more about what he did in WW1 I would be really appreciate it. DMannus Posted 5 November , 2008 Share Posted 5 November , 2008 Morning and welcome to the forum. I had a look at his MIC. S4 meant he was part of army supply of the 4th New Army. The 4th New Army whilst still in GB became the 5th New Army before embarkation. His date of embarkation of August 1915 would suggest he was part of the 37th Division which had the 288, 289, 290 and 291 Companies of the ASC. http://1914-1918.net/37div.htm That's about it for now I'm afraid.
