Guest godfrey.owen@sympatico.ca Posted 3 November , 2008 Share Posted 3 November , 2008 I have a series of Photos of "Uncle Richard Hobbs, No9032, A Sapper with 57th Field Comapny Royal Engineers, starting with his being in :Gefangenlarger, DOEBERITZ, Post card dated 25 Oct 1915. Could this unit have been in the YPRES campaign of that time? Presently am reading a fascinating, but somewhat technical, book "Beneath Flanders Fields" which tells the tribulations of underground miners.
