FROGSMILE Posted 22 October , 2008 Share Posted 22 October , 2008 I am seeking the Forum's help in tracing details of Regular Service of a friend's relative. Lt and QM Albert Ridley appears to have an unusual background. By 1917 he was Lt and QM in the London Regt - Territorial Force (Kensington Battalion ) and finished in 1920 as a 'Captain' with the RAF. His medals indicate he was an OR in the Regular Army but no idea with which unit, as we only have his miniatures. The medals are: MBE (Mil Div pre 37 ribbon), Queen's South Africa with 5 bars (Cape Colony, Transvaal, Orange Free State, SA 1901 and SA 1902), 1914 (Mons) Star with Aug to Nov bar, British War Medal, Victory Medal, 1911 Coronation (Imperial) Long Service and Good Conduct Medal - 1901 Patt . Grateful for any help in tracing his Regular Service and cap badge please?
RedCoat Posted 23 October , 2008 Share Posted 23 October , 2008 Hi mate, I had a look and i think this is your chap. Albert Ridley. I hope this helps. It looks as though your chap has only one MIC which would suggest he went overseas as a Lt......have you dowloaded his MIC? Donnie Sorry: Mis-read your original Post

Donnie Sorry: Mis-read your original Post Thanks for your reply Donnie, that's the one document that the relative managed to find after I posted my query. Have not downloaded MIC yet no, got some useful info from a few members in the soldiers thread but still looking for a copy of citations for both his MBE later in war and MID from Sir John French in 1916.
