clive_hughes Posted 18 October , 2008 Share Posted 18 October , 2008 Can't remember seeing this on the Forum lately, A headstone was dedicated yesterday at Prestatyn to Lieut. & QM Herbert Taylor RWF who came from the Cardiff area but seems to have settled in Prestatyn, Flintshire. Served in France but became ill, returned to the UK December 1916 and possibly relinquished his commission. He was dead within five weeks of a brain haemorrhage; but though he received a grand military funeral his grave has been unmarked till now and not recognised by the CWGC. See this news item: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_east/7671583.stm Article contains a few errors etc., but at least local effort has done something to rectify the lack of a marker.
