bootneck Posted 18 October , 2008 Share Posted 18 October , 2008 You will find service registers entries for them at the National Archives under ADM 159/186 for Albert Escott and ADM 159/178 for Arthur Edwin Clifford. Albert Escott's service papers should be in ADM 159/2678 and you should find Arthur Edwin Clifford's at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. regards Bootneck

Thanks, Tom Thanks for the two replies to my enquiry. They have helped to eliminate this marine from our family tree. With so many servicemen of the same name, it is very difficult to find the relevent one. Best regards, Tom

Bootneck Thankyou Bootneck for your suggestion; however I'll probably have to do more private research, to find more details, before asking for futher assistance. per ardua per mare per terram Posted 24 October , 2008 Share Posted 24 October , 2008 Thankyou Bootneck for your suggestion; however I'll probably have to do more private research, to find more details, before asking for futher assistance. To save you some time, the 2 ways to find Royal Marines who may match are to look at the Medal rolls (ADM 171/167 - ADM 171/171 for WWI) and the RM indexes in ADM 313.
