Two men of Wells, Somerset, who died on this day 92 years ago:

Pte Edward Cecil Bendall of the 7th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. He was killed in the course of the battalion attack on Bayonet Trench, near Flers, aged 26.

Pte Frederick Charles Paul of the 2nd Regiment, South African Infantry. He was aged 24.

Both men are remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.

RIP Edward and Frederick
