londons Posted 5 October , 2008 Share Posted 5 October , 2008 Hi, Does anyone have any information about what jobs the women did at this locationor if any records exist? Many thanks, Lee
cockney tone Posted 5 October , 2008 Share Posted 5 October , 2008 Lee, just a family story but apparently my Nan worked there underneath the Paxton Road stand sewing buttons on uniforms during the Great War! She was apparently employed by Klingers, a local firm originally from Germany! Sadly I have not been able to confirm this with any direct evidence as my Nan died long before i was born and its a story my Mum told me! Good luck with your research and please let me know how you get on? Cheers, Scottie.
mpjbrennan Posted 5 October , 2008 Share Posted 5 October , 2008 I came across a newspaper clipping once which reported that the main stand was converted into an assembly shop for gas masks. Patrick

john-g Posted 8 October , 2008 Share Posted 8 October , 2008 The Spurs will be back you can be sure. No one has actually said it was White Hart Lane Tottenham? What about White Hart Lane, Barnes? There might have been a worksop of some sort there. john_g
