Hi Graceland

You could try Documents Online website at the National Archives http://www.documentsonline.pro.gov.uk/whats-new.asp

and check for the Ballard brothers on the Medal Index Cards.

SDGW lists only Edward Baxter Ballard (born St Nicholas, Gloucester) who was killed in action on 10th May 1915. Presumably he is the Ballard commemorated on the Gloucester War Memorial. I did'nt find any detail regarding Charles, Henry or Frederick.

Have you tried the Gloucesters Museum at the Docks and the Absent Voters Lists in the Library?

Good luck with your research.

Regards

Jimmy
