The DNB release today a number of new Great War biographies some of which plus an essay by Gary Sheffield on generals should be available here for free (plus my biog of E F Harrison who carried out key development work on the Small Box Respirator which is available as a podcast!).

Good news Simon, and not before time. My copy doesn't even have an entry for Noel Chavasse, although there is one for his twin brother who became a bishop.

Poets from the 7th century, by contrast, seen over-represented! It just shows what priorities some of the earlier editors of DNB had.

It was an eclectic mix and still has some way to go to be a wide spread collection, but good to see they're keeping at it.
