brett361975 Posted 27 September , 2008 Share Posted 27 September , 2008 ./Lt. (A./Capt.) Morley James Williams, 256th Tunneling. Coy. R.E. Awarded the MC : For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty at Bellenglise on September 30th, 1918, when his section was removing mines and traps from the Bellenglise—Magny Tunnel. He worked with great energy until all mines and traps had been removed, setting a splendid example to his men. Later, he showed an entire disregard of his personal safety when the enemy driver was forced to start' the lighting engine, despite protests that other mines might be connected to it. His conduct was admirable. He was not a casualty ans so survived the war. Could anyone give me a quick valuation on this group? MC, British war medal, Victory medal, India Volunteer Officers Decoration. Thank you very much. Regards Brett
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 27 September , 2008 Share Posted 27 September , 2008 Tunneller's medals always attract premium, the inclusion of the IVOD,is scarce if not unique to a Tunneller Officer, the group has a good citation thus it will attract a lot of interest, its value would reflect more how much you are prepared to pay;rather than "what its worth" which is indeterminate
