Neil Clark Posted 12 September , 2008 Share Posted 12 September , 2008 I have just been given the name of this chap by my good friend Maggie Stephenson-Knight from Dover War Memorial Project. He doesn't seem to be recorded by the Commission as far as I can see. Can anyone please confirm this is the case - JAMES W Lance Corporal William JAMES. Cyclist Corps. Formerly Leinster Regiment. Died 21 August 1916 at Folkestone. Discharged from the Army having been severely gassed at the front. Died in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone, Kent. Buried 24 August 1916. His baby daughter died a year afterwards aged only 9 months! Buried St James Cemetery, Dover, Kent. I will add him to my next batch if it turns out a strong case. I will order his D.C after confirmation... Thanks Neil
