Steve Bramley Posted 27 February , 2004 Share Posted 27 February , 2004 Hi, I have lists from 1913 of N.C.O's and O.R's serving in the 1st and 2nd Battalions Lincolnshire Regiment. The men listed are by company and all are numbered. Look ups no problem, or can send full lists if required. Regards, Steve.
Lincolnsreg Posted 3 March , 2006 Share Posted 3 March , 2006 Hi Steve, I've literally only just joined this site so still have to get to grips with things. I found this copy of an old mail you sent. I'm currently researching the 2nd Lincolns at the moment (my great great grandfether served from 1897 to 1919). It would be great if you could send me the list for that regiment. I'm curious to find out a few details. Whether he (Drummer W Sullivan) and his friend (Sgt A White) were still in A Company as they had been in the Boer War....and to get details of the officers. There are some names also passed down from my great grandmother that I would like to look up. Thanks for your time, kind regards, Dave Hi, I have lists from 1913 of N.C.O's and O.R's serving in the 1st and 2nd Battalions Lincolnshire Regiment. Cliff. Hobson Posted 13 March , 2006 Share Posted 13 March , 2006 Hello Steve, Back again, I am trying to find some background on a man from my village, Thomas Stansbury number 14376 2nd Battalion, k.I.A. 1st July 1916, commemorated Thiepval. Where he was killed ? when he enlisted, presumably 1914 he was a professional footballer with Lincoln City. Regards Cliff.

Steve Bramley Posted 11 April , 2006 Author Share Posted 11 April , 2006 Chaps, Apologies for not replying to this post earlier, I've been a bit busy!! Cliff, your man will not be on the lists as they finish in 1913, i.e. pre-war members of the battalion, I think that his service number coincides with an early 14 recruit, he may have gone out with the original men but unfortunately I cannot confirm this. Dan, Sean the offer is still there if you would like to PM me your addresses. Cheers, Steve.
