Len Trim Posted 7 September , 2008 Share Posted 7 September , 2008 Hi, locally we have had an 'Open Building' day. This means that you can get to have a look around many buildings that are normally closed to the public. I visited the 'Kings Cellar' in Limekilns. It is used by the local Masonic Lodge. There is a Roll of Honour for WW1. A Adam Archibald R E was awarded the VC on the 4th November 1918 while building a bridge under fire across the Ors river. Methinks this must be the same action that Wilfred Owen was killed in. Anyone know if this is the case? Len

Len Trim Posted 7 September , 2008 Author Share Posted 7 September , 2008 Thanks Lars. That was a quick response. Can't get over my little village being linked with both a VC winner and Wilfred Owen. I'm sure I will be able to link it into a history lesson in the near future. Len
