A relative of mine served with the 77th Siege R.F.A (so it says on the absent voters list). Does anyone have any ideas how I can research what they did, who they were etc? Any help much appreciated.

If it was a siege battery your relative fought in, he would have been in the Royal Garrison Artillery not RFA.

You could always check the National Archive website to see if 77 Siege Battery's war diary still exists.

cheers

Steve

That's great - thanks very much indeed. Thought that the R.F.A didn't seem right. Will have to try and get hold of the diary - am assuming that you can photocopy or photograph it?
