Remembered Today:

Woman who "Ran the Hospital at Dinard"

Does anyone have any information on a hospital (possibly for convalescents) at Dinard (Brittany, across estuary from St Malo) during the summer of 1917. Also the woman who ran it?

Extract from a letter:

"...We met an English girl in charge of the hospital there, who simply took us in hand, introduced us to everyone and made plans for our entertainment. A very clever girl who has done her "bit" if anyone has."

Thanks

Chris

This isn't very specific I'm afraid, but I have come across the following in Dinard and I believe that there were more:

Hopital Temporaire No 28, Hotel Royal

Annexe de l'Hopital 28

Hopital Complimentaire No 54

Hopital de Casino

Anchor Tea Rooms

Hotel Windsor

Mrs Percy Gore's Hospital

Miss Du Cane's Hospital

Hi Aled

Thanks for those names - something to follow up on.

harking back to an earlier thread I was down by Shelbyville and Beecher City (IL) this week and found a couple of large cemeteries. I was with work so I did not have time to look but now I know where they are I will be back to look for Geneva Casstevens' grave.

Thanks again

Chris
