mtaylor Posted 29 August , 2008 Share Posted 29 August , 2008 I recently saw (on ebay - but missed it!) an original edition of Whitton's History of the 40th Division annotated by an ex memebr of the division. I am researching one of the division's brigades and wonder if anyone knows the whereabouts of any other annotated editions of the book?
bantamforgot Posted 29 August , 2008 Share Posted 29 August , 2008 What is your particular research on the 40th. ? Colin
mtaylor Posted 30 August , 2008 Author Share Posted 30 August , 2008 Hello Colin - I am looking at 119th brigade. It's not particularly well represented in the archives so any extra info from annotations etc by anyone from the division would be really useful. bantamforgot Posted 30 August , 2008 Share Posted 30 August , 2008 Hello Mike, regret can't find much about the 40th. apart from the usual Brigade make up etc. I presume you have the "Bantams" book , there is a little in there mainly about the Welch battalions. Cheers. Colin
mtaylor Posted 31 August , 2008 Author Share Posted 31 August , 2008 Yes, have already gone through those but thanks anyway Colin. If you come across original copies of the divisional history do check to see if they're annotated. All the best Mike
