Ken Lees Posted 25 February , 2004 Share Posted 25 February , 2004 I have just discovered an item in the local newspaper for May 1918 which gives details of a local man, Pte S. M. Hopson, Royal Marine Battalion, who was taken prisoner after being one of the landing party in the Zeebrugge raid. Is there a roll of men who took part? How can I find out more about him? This is not my usual area, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards, Ken
Yorts Posted 26 February , 2004 Share Posted 26 February , 2004 I have just discovered an item in the local newspaper for May 1918 which gives details of a local man, Pte S. M. Hi, Dominic Walsh is the man to ask about the Zeebrugge Raid, I believe he *may* have a roll of participants. Your man's service record will be in ADM 159 at the PRO (if you want advice on how to go about finding this then PM me). His service record should confirm that he was at Zeebrugge. I'd appreciate it if you could scan and post the article for everyone to see, as I and no doubt Dominic for a start would be pleased to read. Rgds, Alex.
