Checking the BMD's I can't see any obvious birth registration for a Patrick William DIVINE but there is a possibility for a DEVINE...

Name: Patrick William Devine

Year of Registration: 1880

Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep

District: Salford

County: Greater Manchester, Lancashire

Volume: 8d

Page: 20

I guess this could well be the Lancashire Fusilier.
