andalucia Posted 14 August , 2008 Share Posted 14 August , 2008 Hi All I have a friend in Liverpool who's grandfather DANIEL FAGAN served during ww1. All he knows is that he survived ww1, but was gassed during the war, and was affected so much that he died in 1926 in Liverpool. He was from Liverpool and married to Christina Callaghan on 22 Jan 1916 in Liverpool. His parents look like being Peter and Elizabeth Fagan. Now i have looked through the service records and medal index on ancestry, but i cant spot him. I cant see him in the Kings Liverpool Regiment search either. He probably joined a local regiment to Liverpool. so any ideas if i can find anything on him? cheers Ant.
Northern Soul Posted 14 August , 2008 Share Posted 14 August , 2008 Here is the G.R.O. reference for his marriage - if he was in the Army at the time then then his Marriage Certificate should give his military details. Marriages Mar 1916 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Callaghan Christina = Fagan Liverpool 8b 133 Fagan Daniel = Callaghan Liverpool 8b 133 Andy. Jim Clay Posted 14 August , 2008 Share Posted 14 August , 2008 Ant I'd suggest you need to confirm which, if either, of these guys is your man. Follow Andy's lead, and get his marriage cert - if he was already serving, this may well tell you which regt. This could be the GRO ref for his death registered in the Oct-Dec quarter 1926? His age was 32. Jim
