CWGC added the following 'new' WW1 casualties to its Debt of Honour database today – Wednesday 6th August.

Pte Victor BUNCE

5423 8th Bn, Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment)

Died 26.09.15 Age 26

Commemoration: Loos Memorial, France

Sjt Robert Allan CAMERON

13145 7th Bn, Cameron Highlanders

Died 25.09.15 Age 26

Commemoration: Loos Memorial, France

L/Cpl William CART

8174 2nd Bn, Leicestershire Regiment

Died 25.09.15 Age 26

Commemoration: Loos Memorial, France

NOT FORGOTTEN

The above are further discoveries by the ‘In From The Cold Project’.

Pte Bunce was killed in action (IFCP Volunteer: Geoff Sullivan)

Sjt Cameron was missing presumed killed in action (IFCP Volunteer: Adrian Wright)

L/Cpl Cart was killed in action (IFCP Volunteer: Adrian Wright)

It is a pure coincidence that these additional casualties (so close in date, age and location) all came through on the same day!

Re Bunce above, do you have any further information on him? One of my mates is a BUNCE and his family hail from Kent. I wonder if there is a connection? As I understand it, Bunce is an uncommon surname. I see that our Geoff found him.

Only that he came from Wantage, Berks.

His service record survives and is on Ancestry. That will give his full details.
