Greenwoodman Posted 1 August , 2008 Share Posted 1 August , 2008 My plan for today was to drop into Manchester University Library to pick up a couple of articles from Army Quarterly, a journal which commenced in 1920. I had a couple of books to look at and then off to the Manchesters Museum on Harters recommendation for their current exhibition. Never got past Army Quarterly - I ordered up the first five volumes, and finished up with 15 articles written by such luminaries of the time as Gathorne-Hardy, the Earl of Cavan, Col C Grant (Coldstreams), Liddell Hart, Weygand, Wavell, Hunter-Weston, Birch (RA), and Edmonds. I left behind contributions by Lawrence of Arabia and Fuller, to name but two of those I remember. Started short of 1100, and next thing I knew it was 1500! If you can access them, well worth a rummage. Worth it for the book reviews, and notes on foreign books, alone.
