My grandfather served with two units, 13 base park company, and 519 Field Company. I have found his war records, and read the two war diaries, but I am still not clear about what he was actually doing. He enlisted in London on 2 September 1915 and served abroad from 24 June 1916 in France, Salonika and Egypt. I know that he arrived in the Middle East on 5 Feb 1918 to join 519 Co and was wounded in battle on 19 September 1918. He was discharged on 15 December 1919.

The war diaries tell me quite a lot about the period Feb 1918 - Sept 1918, but I would love to know what he was doing the rest of the time.
