Skipman Posted 9 July , 2008 Share Posted 9 July , 2008 Have all five volumes of the illustrated history of the first world war.Hundreds of great photos, and maps. The writing is a bit gung -ho and dated. If anyone requires a look up or photo,or map can scan&email.

Guest Posted 30 October , 2008 Share Posted 30 October , 2008 Hi Nigel,i just noticed your post, you're of course correct,6 volumes. They're pretty good on the whole, apart from the gung-ho writing style. Cheers Mike
Nigel Marshall Posted 31 October , 2008 Share Posted 31 October , 2008 Hi Mike, Yes, they're a great set of books to own. Particularly good for details on the campaigns fought away from the 'mainstream' Western Front zones. The style of writing is certainly 'of an age', and at times is a bit of a handful, but on the whole it's an enjoyable read. Cheers, Nigel
