Sarah Hodnett Posted 8 July , 2008 Author Share Posted 8 July , 2008 Thanks Hywyn for a great link. I was looking for a Henry Jones who I see is on Panel 2. I think he was a corporal which has helped me narrow down details to a couple of possibles. Hope to get more details from his grandaughter tomorrow. Hywyn Posted 8 July , 2008 Share Posted 8 July , 2008 Sarah The only Henry Jones I have for Caernarfon Town as a casualty is Pte 3074 Henry Jones, 12 Clark Street. 1st 6th RWF died of wounds 12/8/1915 at Gallipoli. He is also commemorated on his parents grave at St Peblig Churchyard. Parents, Henry died 1927 aged 76 and Catherine 1938 aged 80 yrs. SDGW shows he enlisted Carnarvon, resided at Ashton under Lyne. The Casualty Roll for the 1st 6th RWF for that period gives his address as 8 Yorkshire Street, Ashton-under-Lyne. I have some notes from the 1915 local paper which I have yet to type and put into my database. I'll look him up if it's the same man. There are a few more Henry Jones and a couple of Harry's, one of which is a casualty. Hywyn
