Peterhastie Posted 5 July , 2008 Share Posted 5 July , 2008 Hello Does anyone have a war diary for the 2nd Battalion York and Lancaster regiment. In particular April 1918, specifically the first two weeks or 9,4,1918 - 11,4,1918....please. Peter
Greenwoodman Posted 5 July , 2008 Share Posted 5 July , 2008 I should have, but I don't, Peter. I went to Rotherham Library to look them up, but they weren't there. All that was there were Regimental Journals and Histories. 2nd was in the Ypres sector somewhere between Broodseinde and Polygon Wood, and took part in the withdrawal from there on the 16th, but the histories don't have much. Must head down to Kew to photo the war diaries for the Y&L battalions involved in the Lys - 2nd, 1/4th and 1/5th.
