Guest Barracker Posted 19 February , 2004 Share Posted 19 February , 2004 From a WWI Demob book I see that the Machine Gun Corps Records were at 91 York St. Westminster. The Tank Corps Records were at Garden House, Cornwall Gdns, Kensington SW. Does anybody know what these buildings are now home to? ED
Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 19 February , 2004 Share Posted 19 February , 2004 York Street runs adjacent to the Marylebone Road and intersects Baker Street, opposite Sherlock Holmes' House. It is a stones throw from Baker Street Tube Station. Most of the buildings down there are private offices today. Don't get confused with York Road which is where Waterloo Station is sitauted south of the River. I don't know Cornwall Gardens well, only that it is situated not far from St Mary Abbots Hospital and is just off the Gloucester Road not far from the Royal College of Art. I should have been a cabbie!! Ian
