Remembered Today:

Am I being daft?

Hi Guys,

I came across this chap when looking for information about one of my chaps, who has the same name, pals having told me that he was the only one on SDGW with that name, and clearly not being my chap. However, it dawned on me today that my chap is the only one by that name on the CWGC database - and having tried a couple of varients on the name, I still can't find the lad from SDGW. Now, as I said in the topic title, am I being daft or is this lad not on the CWGC database?

His details from SDGW are:

Private Leslie Boddy, 1165.

8th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (City Of London Regiment).

K.I.A., 2/3/16.

Born, Bethnal Green, London.

Enlisted, London.

Residence, Bethnal Green, London.

Hope my explanation makes sense and that someone can get to the bottom of this.

Cheers,

Carole.

Possibly a scanning error by CWGC, as his MIC definitely says BODDY.

Thanks Adrian.

Question for Terry - any chance of getting this changed? Is this just a mistake on the database - a scanning error like Adrian suggests - or could the error be on the Loos Memorial too?

Cheers,

Carole.
