bootneck Posted 20 June , 2008 Share Posted 20 June , 2008 While doing some work on members of the Queen's Royal West Surrey I have come across the following man Z/10088 Cecil G Cox, 1st Battalion, The Queen's Regiment. Can anybody explain the Z prefix as I have not come across this before in connection to the regiment. Many thanks Bootneck

bootneck Posted 21 June , 2008 Author Share Posted 21 June , 2008 Having looked at Cecil G Cox's MiC on Ancestry, it appears the number has an L prefix. It looks as though the clerk who wrote the card liked to put 'flourishs' on his capital letters. I should have looked at MiC first! Cecil Cox's medal entitlement was 14 Star with clasp & roses, war and victory medals. Bootneck
