TD60 Posted 15 June , 2008 Share Posted 15 June , 2008 The Matz battle took place from the 9th to the 15th of June 1918. Several ceremonies and events were organized locally to celebrate 90th anniversary. You may are not aware that 80 tanks of 180 were destroyed on june the 11th: worst day for french tank forces despite that attack completly stopped the german attack toward Compiegne and Paris. Some British armoured cars were also engaged with the French. I participated to one of the commemoration and would like to share this with you. This is one of the panel of the 'circuit des chars' ( tanks tour ) which starts to being built. The iron piece is a coming from a Saint Chamont tank.
