Additional document references on RNAS service record

I have an RNAS service record and in the 'Remarks' column, under a stamped 'FOR SERVICE IN LAND OPERATION See:' are five separate references - NP7200/16(S1117), NP7201/16(S1118), NP7426/16(S1117), NP8450/16 & NP2890/18(S1117).

Does SKS know where or even if I can research these references.

I believe that these are references to correspondence from the Naval Personnel (NP) Division of the Admiralty. I doubt they have survived.

Do you think these would have been 'circular' type correspondence or specific to an individual ?

Impossible to say. They could refer to an individual, a small group or an entire unit.

There was a seperate card index for these details, according to William Spencer at the National Archives it was probably scrapped.
