Hi, He has an MIC on Ancestry with a further entry below the East Lancs of the R E numbers 247267 and 25399. PM your email address if you want it. Regards Ralph.

Hi,

I can only, at the moment, narrow it down to 1st or 2nd Battalions. Pure speculation I think he joined as a group of older men with previous experience as his number suggests attesting in Jan 1915 and he went to France 19/03/1915 I do suspect 2nd as there are many dead and wounded in his number group with them.

If I find anything else I will let you know.

Regards Charles

Thakyou Charles, I guessed it might be 2nd Batt. My grandfather was with the 2nd in India. Walter Higgins medals are on "E" bay at the moment so i may have a go. Regards. jim
