Guest Eduardo Posted 9 September , 2005 Share Posted 9 September , 2005 Hello, I have adquire two views of the camp at Beverloo in Belgium. Searching in the internet has not given me any important information as to how long was it used or what was it's participation in the war. Could someone guide to as to where to find information, or tell me a little about it. Thank you Eduardo

Guest Eduardo Posted 10 September , 2005 Share Posted 10 September , 2005 Thank you Pierre and Joris. As an historian teaching XX century European history at the university, the W.W.I is a subject that interests me very much. As a decendent of a Belgian family I am particularly interested in the aspects of the war that deal with Belgium. The two Beverlo postcards I have are with one of Belgian children in France, the only ones I have related to Belgium. That is why I am interested in knowin more. I will copy some parragraphs from the pages you have kindly send me and will ask one of my Belgian friends here to translate them for me. My main historic research has been Monetary history of Peru and the Flemish presence and importance in South America during colonial times (XVi-XVIII centuries) plus the Belgians since our independence (1821). Truly yours Eduardo Try this link, very complete, but in Dutch. Guest PteIanFrancis Posted 2 October , 2005 Share Posted 2 October , 2005 Hi Eduardo, The postcard you've posted here is a postwar one. It's probably dated in the interbellum. Check the postal date to be sure. Nowadays Beverloo is Leopoldsburg. It still exists and is one of the main Belgian military camps. Greetings, Ian Try this link, very complete, but in Dutch.
