Members of the forum, have been very helpul to me in relation to queries on the

Kings Own Royal Lancaster 1st Battalion activity and position on the 1 July 1916

around Beaumont Hamel.

As suggested I have purchased a copy of Battleground Europe'Beaumont Hamel',but it does not show the section of the official history map with the position of the kings own royal lancaster regiment on.

Has anyone got a copy of the section of the map which would show the ist Battalion Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment marked on the official history map.

The Map Section in the Beaumont Hamel book cuts off at the critical section.

Thank You

In Chris McCarthy's book "The Somme: The Day-by-Day Account", the map position of the 1st King's Own on July 1st, 1916, is given as immediately behind the 6th Royal Warwicks, who, in turn, were in support of the front-line 8th Royal Warwicks, attacking the Quadrilateral Redoubt. This was roughly half way between Beaumont Hamel & Serre.
