Edwin: The War Diary of 330 Brigade, RFA for 22 March 1918 contains the following: "Nobe's Court Farm: Enemy favoured by dense fog again attacked in the early morning and had broken the BROWN LINE before midday. It was then decided to throw all troops into the defence of the GREEN LINE and the Div. Artillery was regrouped under Lt. Col. Laird, J., DSO as follows: A composite battery of "A" and "B" 331 under Maj. H. R. Lodge; D/331, "C" and "D" Batteries 330, "G" and "H" Batteries, RHA and 47 AFA Bde covering an Inf. Bde. of the 50th Div. Group HQ moved to Beaumetz via Brusle." The War Diary of 331 Brigade, RFA for the same date (22 March 1918) indicates the following: "Brusle: The enemy opened the attack again at dawn and shortly afterwards orders were issued to the batteries to retire to positions just south of MARQUAIX. Group HQ was moved to BRUSLE about 1pm. The 66th Divisional Artillery was re-organized in consequence of several batteries having lost their guns and personnel. A/331, C/331 (3 guns) and D/331 (5 Hows.) being placed under command of Lt Col Laird. Lt Col Adams and HQ of 331 Brigade proceeding to the wagon lines. The transport lines of 330 and 331 Brigades RFA being placed under the command of Lt Col Adams marching that night to Brie." Regards. Dick
