100 YEARS AGO TODAY: Canada's Hundred Days - 80.
Erich Lundendorff, First Quartermaster General of the German army, resigns under pressure from Kaiser Wilhelm II, Emperor and Commander-in-Chief of the German armed forces, Saturday, 26th October 1918.
In the early days of October, residents are encouraged to leave the town of Tournai by their occupiers - the Germans are clearly expecting a pounding and refugees are now entering the British lines.
