Sports. Boxing - Sgt. J. Williams vs Pte. D. Piercey. Piercey wins by a knockout in the second round. Shots of impromptu bout stage in training field, without ring, combattants dance about, sparring, and finally Pte. Piercy delivers ko punch and stretches Williams out. Piercey laughs as much as the soldiers gathered around at the outcome - a staged match if ever there was one. Wrestling - Cpl. A. Hammond and Pte. A. Rendell wrestle to a draw, the referee Sgt. W. Clare. Shots of wrestling match outside. Physical Training - Men of the First Newfoundland Regiment performing leap-frog, exercises on parade square. Recreation - The regimental barbers give two boys a shave while others wait their turn. Seven Newfoundland soldiers in front of detention barracks receive Gem cigarettes, compliments of the Imperial Tobacco Co. of Newfoundland.
