Newfoundlanders answer cookhouse call and gather around ice cream push cart in Ayr where they are stationed.Lifeboat and Flag Day at Ayr. Giant parade of military and civilian personnel and floats through the streets of Ayr. Sign on lead vehicle reads Save The Lifeboat. A 48th Canadian Highlander chats with Newfoundland Officer. Girls sell Flag Day buttons in support of the Red Cross to Newfoundland soldiers. One girl flees when a soldier tries to kiss her. The soldiers laugh.An Appeal To You For More Recruits. Recruiting posters, some very rare.Regimental Colours. Two soldiers proudly display the flag of the First Newfoundland Regiment and the Union Jack with the Newfoundland Regmiment Insignia. Men of the First Newfoundland Regiment sitting on ground form the letters to spell Newfoundland.
