The Guardroom Posted 5 September , 2005 Share Posted 5 September , 2005 Would appreciate any help with a SDGW look up and family census check if possible. George Smith Scott 1st Royal Scots Fusiliers 28231 Died 13/11/16 Age 33 Born Arbroath Memorial Ref: Pier and Face 3 C Having checked the CWGC website, it states the above. However when checking the MIC NA site, it states George J Scott. Very confused and hope someone may be able to shine some light on what his middle names was. I believe that he stayed in the Angus region of Scotland around Arbroath. His brother, (my Gt Grandfather worked locally on a farm with him). Many thanks, Alan

The Guardroom Posted 2 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 2 December , 2005 Been so months since I worked on this search, but time to pick up again. Spoke to the CWGC who said that the middle name of Smith would have been provided by the NOK. So it must be an admin error on the MIC with the initial 'J' as the middle name. Can anyone tell me the area of enlistment on the SDGW for George. 1901 cenus check may help track down a memorial, if an address can be found. So any help on this grateful.
