Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 15 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 15 January , 2019 (edited) Dear MICHAEL62, As far as I understood (my languages are English and German, only), you found a case with the name of J. H. Cumberlege. Furthermore, you would like to find out more about the person. All I know about Cumberlege is outlined in this thread. He died young, in Kenya, etc. Since then (1929), the case has obviously travelled far... Kindest regards, Kim. Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 15 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 15 January , 2019 Dear MICHAEL62, My German wife (who speaks French incidentally), now tells me it is more of a trunk, than a case. Perhaps you could post a photo of it on the Great War Forum? The Cumberlege medals looked like this:- Kindest regards, Kim.

If so, it could explain how his trunk ended up in the attic. Regards, JMB Edited 15 January , 2019 by JMB1943 Typos
