En-jay Posted 28 December , 2017 Share Posted 28 December , 2017 Hello there, This maybe somewhat of a long shot, but I wonder if anyone may be able to assist - I am currently researching an individual by the name of Sergeant John Lobley Massam, Service No. PLY/1890 - in one of the search results (FindMyPast) for the Royal Marine Medal Roll Transcription it states in the 'Notes' section: "In photo of R.M. Senior NCOs, Globe & Laurel January 1918, page 20" - would I be correct in thinking that this particular individual is present in a photograph (?) and if so, could anyone advise on how I might be be able to obtain a copy/scan of the relevant page from this publication. Many thanks.

horatio2 Posted 28 December , 2017 Share Posted 28 December , 2017 (edited) There is an attestation pack for John Massam at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. He served in the RNAS from January 1917. Edited 28 December , 2017 by horatio2
En-jay Posted 29 December , 2017 Author Share Posted 29 December , 2017 Very many thanks indeed for posting the image - much appreciated. I have the register of service showing the transfer/enrolment from the Royal Marines to the RNAS in January 1917, I also have the census record of 1891 which shows him (then as a Private in the Royal Marines) living with his family in Newport Street, East Stonehouse, Plymouth - which of course is close to Stonehouse barracks. I wasn't aware of an attestation pack at the Fleet Air Arm Museum so thanks again for the information regarding that.
