PaulHP Posted 13 October , 2011 Share Posted 13 October , 2011 Can anyone help? I am trying to find out if G.H. McAllan who died on the 18th December 1918, is the same G.H. McAllan that played rugby for Ireland in 1896. The CWGC record does show an age http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=126738 . I know that the rugby player was 40 years old when he died in Johannesburg in 1918. His listing in "The Complete Who's Who of International Rugby" by Terry Goodwin is as follows: MCALLAN, George Herbert Ireland RS Dungannon, Dungannon B. 1878; d 1.2.1918 Johannesburg FB, 2-1-1-0 1898 S=W+ Schoolmaster/bank offical. 1st schoolboy to play for Ireland
