Nice photos.

.....but for those who can visit be aware that the Grahame-White hangar which also has several WW1 vintage aircraft is only open for TWO HOURS a day!

Naturally I arrived on Thursday ten minutes after it had closed for the day and was told by a very defensive custodian ( who had obviously had her share of grumpy old visitors ) " Don't blame us. It's the MoD's fault for not giving us a big enough budget"

Thanks for the photos - did you happen to go past the white building with black painted timbers about 100 metres from the RAFM? That's the old Officers Mess, which i'm typing this from as i've been living there since last September! Interesting to see the SE5A in the bomber hall, it's normally in the Grahame-White hangar, presumably it's being moved (or been moved) with something to do with the 90th anniversary of the RAF? I know on Tuesday a Chinook landed there, Henry Allingham was there and other dignatiries - I didn't know anything about it until I was woken up by four Tornados flying over low level in formation!

The presentation aircraft is a DH9A, and has an interesting history, see my photos and information here http://forum.planetalk.net/viewtopic.php?p...ighlight=#52220
