olegoofy Posted 12 August , 2007 Share Posted 12 August , 2007 Hi Folks, The MIC below is that of my Great-Uncle, Pvt. James Craig, who was a regular army soldier in the 2nd Bn. Royal Scots Fusiliers and was killed in action on Oct. 23, 1914 at Ypres. I can read and interpret eveything except the line that is written below the 14 Star block. It says ???? / 2 / 2676. Richard Jones Posted 12 August , 2007 Share Posted 12 August , 2007 Morning Bruce, Cl/2/2676 refers to the award of his "Clasp" to the 1914 Star he was awarded. This clasp had to be applied for, it was not issued as other medals were. The application form for the clasp must have been done by his next of kin , as of course he was already dead.
