HMHS Glenart Castle, 6,824 grt, was torpedoed 10 miles W from Lundy Island, Bristol Channel by UC 56, and 95 of the crew were lost. She was owned by Union Castle Mail Steamship Co Ltd of London and was sailing from Newport, Mon to Brest.
